No, you don't have to live with an

Overactive Bladder

Control the go.

Overactive bladder syndrome (OAB) is defined as urinary urgency, usually with urinary frequency and nocturia, with or without urgency urinary incontinence.

Great, now that we have the technical definition out of the way, what does that really mean?

If you suffer from OAB, you know that it means that you have the feeling of needing to go to the bathroom...a lot.

That may mean that you have a lot of trips to the bathroom during the day, sometimes with little urine to show for your efforts.

It may also mean that you struggle with trips to the bathroom at night (nocturia) or even bedwetting when you don't quite wake up on time.

It may also mean that the urge is so strong that not only do you have to go often, you feel as though you need to go RIGHT NOW! (urinary urgency).

And let's be real...it is miserable.

People suffer from overactive bladder syndrome for a variety of reasons.  Treatments varies widely.  Medications sometimes provide relief but may not be an option for some or may not be effective for others.

Athena Pelvic Therapy provides the physical treatment required to ensure the pelvic floor is functioning properly.  Perhaps more importantly gives you strategies and tools to help you decrease that horrible feeling of urgency that is controlling your life.
